OUR STORY

We created The River Ale House as we love beer, we love micropubs and we felt it was something Greenwich needed. It took almost 2 years to realise our dream, but on 13th September 2017 we officially opened our doors and haven't looked back.

Our philosophy is simple, always offer a range of beer styles at reasonable prices. The majority of our beer is sourced from the local breweries in and around London & Kent, but as we like to try new beers there is always something from further afield available. All our beers come with tasting notes to help you choose what the best option is, or ask one of our friendly team for a taster if you simply cannot decide.

In addition to beer, we stock a range of Ciders, Gins and Wines, all of which come with tasting notes. We have also added Whiskey and Rum to our collection, but think more sipping, and less mixer!

What’s On At The River?

Tuesday Night is Folk Night From 8:30pm

Do you play an instrument, wish you could, or enjoy listening to those that can? Well come on down on Tuesdays to enjoy an eclectic, unplanned, and impromptu collection of folk music. This is a night not to be missed! No need to book and feel free to bring along an instrument too!

Charlton Home Games

Off to The Valley to watch Charlton (or the opposition)? Then The River is the best place for a pint of Ale or Cider before or after the match. As Charlton supporters ourselves, sometimes we wish were still in the pub during the game too. We are open to all, so we look forward to seeing you soon.
